Wow... I love Lake Willy but let's be realistic... it gets old fighting the Tommy Tubers, the Rodney's, the Ski-Doo'ers, the people that like to plow down the lake (in their I/O's that don't make a wake), and the occational ol man Wally cruising down the lake in the patoon that loves to idle down the middle. Oh and let's not forget about the one and only 5.0 himself and the new Wildlife crew that's made their self at home on the lake recently.

I've rode on the Licking a few times in the past years. However it has never been on my boat and I've always been rushed. I spent all day Sat. on the L and it was by far the most enjoyable day I've had on the water this year... Maybe even all of last year also. The water was glass on an awesome Saturday afternoon with winds that made the Ohio look like Willytown on a Saturday Rodneyfest. I wasn't worried about having a couple coldies in the boat and I didn't think twice about adding 2000# of ballast in it either.

I'm sure some of you are going to be like - ick - the L is nasty and you're going to grow a third arm after a year. But in all honesty the water was not bad at all. It gets a little muddy from the mud banks but as long as you stay away after a hard rain you're golden. Oh and don't forget to close your mouth when you fall :D

Point being... other than to "chill" and make an occational stop down there to hang out I will probably be relocating my "training" grounds during the peak summer months.

I didn't have plans to ride today but I couldn't resist. I took the boat back down today and took 2 butter sets this afternoon. Thus... i'll be spreading the wanksters vibe north... So if you're looking to get some good riding on a Saturday or Sunday... you know where I'll be.

I will have to admit I also had a BLAST! It was a nice change of pace. It was really neat to be able to pull the boat up to a restaurant (beer seller, ludlow bromley yacht club etc... ) and have a few beers and good eats. You can't beat the company at willytown...However to really ride during the weekend and after work it seems like the place to be. I am the pickiest of all about the cleanliness of the water and it really wasn't bad. If your skeptical just try it. We really had a great time!

i have felt the same about the riding time for the last 2 summers. it has really been cut down to about 3-4 set a week.. i remember when we could get about 4-5 sets in a day even on the weekends..and not be harrassed by 5.0. its just to hard to pack up my whole family for a long day on the water without a house. but i would love to able to ride on the weekends. what sucks is that every wed and thurs i look at an empty lake with no one to ride with..

Riding there was a nice change. I really enjoy willytown and will still spend alot of time there but the licking is a nice option as well, its also nice that it is 3 minutes from work. It was awesome to be able to get sets in at 4 on a saturday afternoon on absolute butter. Ohter than this nasty rash I have developed, I really enjoyed it :)

Does this mean that your willing to take a ride in the Big "L"?

Hold up now!...........all true that the LAW has decided for some reason to join us way to many times time year, but i really think that after the Marina is managed by a different party, a lot of our harrasment will go away, and hopefully this will happen soon, since nobody even knows theres a Marina over there anymore.

Dont get me wrong i like the glass water as well as everbody else, but i think its a little week to jump off of willytown just because of a little roughness.....i mean the ocean like conditions is what has set all of us up as hard core riders that could easly ride in a hurricane while adjusting our binding straps and eating an ice cream.

I'm usally a pretty early riser even on the weekends, an usally i set at my table having some coffee and looking out the window down the lake at nothing but pure glass, wondering wheres all the ballers at? You just gotta get up before 10 am.

Wankster one, i'm just around the corner and always ready to ride and since i've sold my boat i have gas $$$$ running out my nose.

Ok...Ok...Yes, Joe the Licking is very smooth and yes I like to ride in July when the water is warm; however I NEVER said the Licking was Bathwater. I prefer my water to be a little more clean. I think that I will stick to Sun Loving when I am on the licking and I'll ride at lake Willy! Hows that for best of both worlds!
