I heard a crew went out with JW last night... anyone busting anything new these days? And if you haven't busted it how about what are you trying?
Not that anyone cares but maybe we can push each other to try new stuff and progress. I know I can't be out with others every time they ride but maybe we can use this board as a way to talk about what we are trying and different ways to try / approach a trick. Plus I get bored at work a lot and I'm looking for a way to stir up more conversation here.
This might sound stupid to people... I don't know what everyone's thoughts are. However if anyone has any pointers on spinning faster I'd appreciate the tips. I stuck a heelside off-axis 3 Monday night (at least they tell me it was off-axis) and I'm looking to go to 5. However I can't seem to spin fast enough....yet anyways. Aside from that I'm looking to add some raley-based move(s), some solid 5's, and a mobe or 2 to the arsenal this year. I may be stretching it but I guess I'll throw it out there so I can hold myself to trying some of them.

i think you got a good idea jason...i'd like to get my hs bs 3's on lock( i miss the pass 1/2 the time any pointers??)...i know they're harder than fs 3's but i can't seem to make myself rotate fs (that would be to the right). i've thrown a few switch fs 3's but can't seem to commit all the way...i got the half cab down but can't seem to go the extra 180...i'd also like to get a bs 180...i'm looking forward to the falls on that one...
my only advice on spinning faster is head positioning...to more you try n look over that shoulder the faster you'll spin...i've spun a couple of hs bs 5's on accident but i've never been close to makin the pass...

Well i would finally like to land a a backroll. A heelside 180 with the handle pass. A 360 (can't pass the handle). On the skate i want to be able to land a pop shvit in the flats.

Goals are to ride alot more switch and 180's, more consistent heelside and toe side jumps, more grabs, and a tantrum....the first thing I have to do is learn to ride and not have to visit the grant county hospital for stitches (wouldnt recommend it). But on a positive note, if thats the worst injury i see this year, Ill take it.

u doin 180 shuvs or 360 shuvs?? now this is just my opinion but i thinks it is easier to throw shuvs in the trough of the wake...otherwise you're doin all the work out in the flats...just my thought...one thing that helped me a lot on 180 shuvs was not tryna pop so big...just a lil pop and a lil scoop will flip that guy around quick..

Trying 180 shuvits. Don't really have that big off trough on my wake cause its a bass boat. So last year i was trying them ollieing off wake into the flats. was close to landing em but never did. This year i thought i would try em edging out heelside then pop it/ shuvit and landing em that way.

That Tantrum and I have ISSUES!!!
I think everytime I go out, that I have it dialed in, but just end up smack'en my boys. But as soon as I get the tantrum, I'm moving on to scarecrow, frontroll, ts bs 720, and maybe a wirleybird. If I can just get that damb Tantrum.
For all you wanna be spinners out there, the best advise I have for your spinns, is try to set your axis first before you pull the spin.
Like the hs bs 180... Do it first in the flats to get the handle pass down or just get used to turning away from the boat and landing.
Second take it one wake only. Trust me, BIll can testify to the falls, you don't want to catch that heal edge.
Lean away from the boat, and keep the handle in to your body, preferably at the small of your back. This keeps you from getting pulled over by the boat if you keep the handle close to your hips. That stays true during any spin or flip.
Hope this helps!!!!
Help me with that tantrum.

Awww, landing that backroll was a GREAT feeling, but now onto the hard part...getting consistent!
I think I'm going to continue to work on the backroll and maybe a Tantrum. But what I really need to work on is HS and TS grabs then onto some 180's. I'd like to get either a TS 180 or HS 180 with some grabs in the next few weeks and get all this down switch as well.

Bzmillerboy, how more consistant do u want. You landed it three times in a row and they were high, slow, and smooth, while it was Cat Fish Mating Hour i might add. I bet you start landing it the majority of the time now.

I would like to see an OFF AXIS 7. I heard that cutting the grass can actually help focus when spinning....I would actually like to learn to jump wake to wake consistently...

I think that requires that you ride at least a couple time a year. It could be just me but I haven't learned any new tricks by riding 1x a summer.

I ride more than 1X a summer! You know that my season doesn't even begin until the water is bath water...that is around July! Do you know of any good coaches?

You only ride in bath water? That's going to limit the time span of your riding, unless your actually riding in the bath tub. In which many would give free lessons for teaching those tricks!

Starting to hit the ts and hs 5's now. Landed a couple of the hs 5's last night. Tried the whirly earlier this year but kind of geeked my gimp shoulder. If I can get my abs to quit hurting (I guess I eat too many doughnuts) and get my tantrum more up than out I'll be trying the mobe/raley stuff. Should be an exciting month (especially if we make it down to the camp).
How is everyone else progressing (or lack there of)?

Learning new tricks has always been a tricky feat.
After many headers off the wake, you finally pull it around and land on your feet and then quickly realize you have no idea how you just did that.
I have the same problem with getting consistant with the Rale.
I have gotten my motivation back, now I just lack the time to get out there and try.
I hope everyone has learned something new this year, because unfortunately it is Aug... and then comes Sept where it starts getting cold and everyone stops rid'en.
Stay motivated!!!
