and the question is?
I skate more than I board. The trend is to heavy boards. I like the lighter ones. I like wood with foam. Most folks like shoes and grip tape.
If I buy a board this year it will be grip tape and shoes.
i am no expert, but i did skate for awhile when i couldnt wakeboard (MCL sprain, load the line rallies don't like me). I just bought a liquid force SST bilevel, rode the same board a few times there. I tend to like bilevels (little poppier) with grip tape and shoes. its def sick, and a nice break if you get tired on the wakeboard.

Hey TduB let me know how you like that Bi-Level. I was really thinking about buying one at the boat show but just didn't pull the trigger. Such a great deal at the wakenation booth.
i know man. thats (well.. not the only reason) but one of the reasons i picked it up. $400 wakeskate for $150? niceee. I remember riding it last year and loving it, tracked really well and had more pop than the single level i was riding before. I'll post a review after i've been on it for a few hours at WN.
ive got an execute 39 inch(9 ply deck) with foam.It has a cont. rocker, and it doesnt have much pop.I was looking at the Obscura impulse or or maybe a smaller step up to the anthem.I think I would like the impulse with the grip tap tape, but dont want the board to be to advanced(i want to start working on ollies and then maybe shuv-its).The board i have now is equal to the LF Faction.

Switching to a 3 stage rocker will not help you on ollies and shuvs until you take them wake to wake. I think the board you have is fine, but you can go to grip tape it you want. Next time you are out riding, borrow someones board with grip tape so you can see for yourself before you spend any money.
if I was to buy the Anthem wich doesnt have grip tape, could i remove the foam and put grip tape on it.I'm going to need a new board for this season the one have is not going to make it to end of the season(its getting warped).unless i go to wake nation I dont know anyone that skates to borrow a board, so any info i can get here is going to be great, thanks for your help.

I would never buy a board that I had not had a chance to demo. You can't tell if you will like something until you get it out on the water. You should ride your skate until it breaks and ask everyone at Wake Nation if you can ride their boards and see what you like before you buy one.

Zink, I am in the same boat with you right now i want to buy a new skate also and i have a LF faction and it sucks with any kind of pop. I was wondering the same thing about the skates. I know for sure I would want a board with grip tape because that foam blows but i don't know anything about the bilevels and what not. I also don't want to buy something then not like how it is on the water.
The deals were off the chain at the boat show but I also couldn't put down the money on something i have never ridden before.
does anybody know what the rental skates(brand and model) at W.N. are?and can we demo wakeskates at W.N.?Hey LFPVH let me know if you get a new skate or any info that would help my search for a new skate thanks....thanks for the info T-Bird
