Went to Mad River last night with 2 of my buddies and the conditions were as good as they are going to be all year. They had 31 obstacles set up right now. A few bigger kickers and a decent spine.

The after work passes are 6:30 to 9:30 and only cost $17. We are going to try and ride there every other Wednesday. Let me know if anyone wants to go.

Mad river’s setup is pretty sick this year, and definitely worth taking a little trip to check out. Its rail paradise (as always) there, but with the addition of jumps on their sugarbush run it really adds to their setup. The first jump on sugarbush is pretty comparable to perfect’s smaller bottom jump. There’s two setups next (which you’ll need to straightline to clear) and then the stepdown park to park jump with two sides, one lip is 3 or 4 feet off the table, one about 7 or 8 feet off the table.

A word of warning if you are jumping on sugarbush, watch out for gapers who like to stand on the tables/sit on the landing ramps. My brother and I had several close calls this weekend with gapers we couldn’t see. The jumps aren’t blocked off by fences or anything (which they really need). I’d be down to head up there with ya’ll but I’m in Detroit Monday-Friday these days..

I just went Yesterday and they had totally changed up the top section of the board park. They put in a few harder hits up top which is good, but their are always people just going off the sides of the jumps leading into a rail. It gets really annoying when someone cuts in front of you and then just rides off the "jump".

Its cost $42 for a day pass, so I like to go up after work on the weekdays for $17. If you are heading to Mad River, let me know because I can go with little notice.

I took out someone that was sitting at the bottom of the last jump about a week ago. I came down blind and by the time I got around, BAM, I plowed into them. Hurts pretty bad, but noone was actually hurt.

I think that they will never stand at the bottom of a landing again.

A friend wants to take a few 9-10 year old girls tubing at Perfect North or Mad River. Anyone have an educated opinion on which would be better on a Sturday?

Yes, my daughter snowboards but I do not think her friends will keep -up.

I have been to both places this year, but I didn't really look at the snow tubing that close. I would say they are very similar. You will have a good time on either of them.
