Just wanted to give you all a heads up. If you've been there before you know the beach at Caesars Creek Lake has a bird dropping problem. A friend who went there to train for the Ironman got Histoplasmosis, a very bad fungal infection of the lungs. It requires heavy duty antifungal meds for three months and can be fatal.

Children and those with weak immune systems should not go to that beach, and even the super healthy, like my friend, can be at risk.

Be careful out there. For more info on Histoplasmosis, go to the CDC site here (http://www.cdc.gov/nczved/dfbmd/disease_listing/histoplasmosis_gi.html):

Finnaly good to see a post about good ol' Ceasars Creek....but not exactly a good one. Its a little misleading....the water is more clear than I have ever seen it but I think its due to a zebra muscle infestation and they are eating away all the algae resulting in an unheathly lake. A couple years back we had a drought with really hot temps that resulted with warnings issued for small children and elderly not to swim in the lake. Even I would get the sniffles the day after a set during that time. Hope this isnt a foreshadow of the lakes future...

By the way yesterday at the lake was awesome. Perfect day where a little rain earlier scared a lot of boaters away and left almost the whole lake to ourselves with no wind and sunshine!
