Allendale, Mich. (May 14, 2009) The best wakeboarders in the Midwest along with the top pro waterskiers will take to the water in a new tournament format. The inaugural Global Invitational takes place Saturday, June 27 in Allendale, Mich.
The top wakeboard contestants will compete for $2,500 prize money on Placid Waters (www.placidwaters.com), Michigan’s only site with three competition lakes lined up adjacent to one another. Eight contestants from each sport will move on from the qualifying round to compete on the center Global Championship Lake in front of the crowd as we continue to narrow the field and crown the winners.
This unique water sports event will consist of a wakeboard competition along with Pro Slalom skiing and Jump. The morning will start with a down and back, 4 division tournament. The top division riders will also be in contention for one of eight spots as we narrow the field of skiers, jumpers, and wakeboarders and move the three groups of eight to the center lake in front of the crowd in a head to head style finish.
Guests will be able to demo product on Radar Lake, walk over to Ronix Lake to check in on the wakeboard competition, and see all the finals action on Global Championship Lake. All the major water sports companies will have the latest product on display and for sale, as well as food and beverage vendors.
For more information visit globalinvitational.com. Discount tickets available in advance at Action Water Sports locations (www.actionwater.com). To register in the wakeboard tournament call Action Water Sports at (800)394-3227.
