I have always gone south to Barren, Nolin, Green River, and Dale Hollow when it comes to boating but I am trying to find a good spot somewhere between Louisville and Cincy. We are planning on going to the Ohio some this summer around Warsaw, but i heard it can be pretty ugly this time of year. Anyone got any lake suggestions? I was looking into Williamstown but it doesnt allow ballast and looks to be really small and overcrowded on the weekends. Is it already crowded this time of year? Any help is much appreciated. I just bought an '06 Mastercraft X2 and would be happy to take someone out for a few sets if they would be willing to show me around their local lake. Just holler at me!

If you thinking my stomping area (williamstown) the time to ride is now. We find good water during the week and on the weekends but In a few short weeks forget it due to normal day boaters and fisherman.

I went to school in Louisville and had my boat down there for a few months. Taylorsville Lake is OK this time a year and during the week. Weekends are crazy like most lakes. The river is actually a great place once June gets here. I put in at Cox Park (i think thats the name). There's also a party cove off the channel where you can hang out with no current. Had a great time there.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, Taylorsville is ridiculous on the weekends any later than noon, but we have had good luck early morning if we cant get away for the whole weekend to a bigger lake. I rode some on the river about a month ago up in Warsaw, it was too rough to wakeboard but was pretty good for surfing cause we were the only ones out there. Everyone i have talked to has said the river is only good later in the summer, late June at the earliest depending on rainfall.

im gonna have to say the bast place is the river. on a day when there's not too much crap, if u go up around big bone lick state park, and that area, there's a lot of open water to screw around in and if ur goin off a jet ski u can go up to rising sun and play around on cruisers's wakes. (oodles of fun!!!)
