It was a great day at East fork today. The temp gauge said the water was 58.5, there was some drift until about 1:30 when the Breeze had blown most of it to shore, lots of bass boats, 1 buzzed us like 10 feet from our boat and came within about a foot of running over the tow rope, we didn't wakeboard near them, pretty much but heads. Wore the dry suit but probably could have gone with the wetsuit especially with the sun so nice and bright.
Surprised to not see anyone else boarding or skiing?

We stopped out to East Fork on Friday and I took a set. It was extremely windy but we eventually found some calm water...but I was worn out at that point. Feels good to get out huh.

I'm glad you guys are getting out.. This weekend is going to better than last weekend for sure.
What is the fastest way to East Fork from Tri-County Area. I know to take 275 around, but what is the best or closest ramp?

take Rt 32 exit then drive east past Batavia and get off 32 right after the old Ford transmission plant. (It's the 1st exit past Front Wheel Drive) ....aww forget it.

the best ramp is the one on the Amelia side called the Bantam ramp near the beach.

I guess I'm not too surprised that the water has only climbed about 3deg since we were out in mid-late March. Water was 55deg that day. I just wore 2 neo tops and trunked it.
You should see us out there sometime, so say hey.

I need a run down of East Fork. Looking to try a new lake this weekend since the Ohio is a disaster. I've heard good and bad things about the lake (dirty with lots of drift wood). Any recommedations/comparisons to Brookville? Water conditions? Places to avoid?
Thanks,
-Ryan

If I look out the house window and see the trees moving I know conditions aren't going to be ideal. It's susceptible to all wind directions.
Just like most bodies of water...if it's nice out, there will be boats out. That means dealing with 'stuff'.
Tuesday there was more sediment in the water, but debris wasn't bad. Water was mid-to-upper 60's.
I don't want to paint a negative picture. It can be nice.
Take care,
Paul

So you think it will be a good time Saturday around noon to putz around and get a few sets in? Just don't want to get out there and be dodging drift wood all day with the rain we've had. Thanks for the info.

Noon is typically later than I would consider getting out on a weekend day, but it's still early in the season and if the weather 'looks' iffy it tends to keep some people off.
Hard telling about debris. It was pretty clear Tuesday, but we've received more rain since. Suggestion: Make a dedicated run to look for debris by driving the line that you are going to run.
If you wakesurf, maybe you should consider taking that board too. That way if wakeboard conditions are bad/deteriorate you have something else to do.
If you see us out there sometime, say 'hey!'
Take care,
Paul

if there is a slight breeze it usually blows the majority of drift toward shore - if the water is high the drift floats out at night when its calm. I just watch for it and if its really bad you can usually find a spot that is less bad to get a few runs in. If you are really afraid of a few pieces of wood then go to Wakenation.

Mali U I saw you guys coming sown the hill to Bantam ramp as I was driving up the hill Sat afternoon. I wasn't boating, just visiting. How was the water?

Like an ocean! It was way too windy to get anything done. The girls got cold in a heartbeat from the spray so could only get on plane going with the wind. So we anchored out, drank some beers, and soaked up the rays. Not a bad lake, just didn't find anywhere to get clean water. Tons of fisherman that weren't too friendly; shocker.

 No way would I have even considered Saturday! The wind has to be near lower single digits to have a chance!
Sounds like you made the most of it!
See you out there sometime...

I was up here on 5/10 for my first ride of the season on our PWC... Despite the temp being 70F at the very highest, the water was suprisingly warm. With my shorty wetsuit on, it was perfect. The big lake was pretty much empty, and for the most part, nearly smooth as glass. Really, really awesome - I don't know why more people don't ride at East Fork...
