So I didn't realize that the avatars were disabled for all users (except me). Anyways you can now add your own avatar up to 120px X 120px.
Also - you can upload a profile picture that is 450px x 550px (max dimensions).
The forum has the ability for people to upload pics into albums. I'll probably add a "random photos" block to the main page that pulls random photos from everyone albums soon so don't be shy...
