I thought about doing this to my Master Raft. Did you just change the bulbs out to red ones?

No I just ran them seperately and wired them into an extra accessory switch on my dash that wasnt being used.

Here is a pic of one of the pods...

Where did you get the pods and how much are they?

I'm doing a full makeover on my boat this winter. New Upholstery, Carpet, Finish up Plumbing my new Ballast, Completely New Stereo System, Restoring the Teak on the boat, etc.

I just bought it last july and can't wait to have it completely restored for this season!

T-Bird,
I got hte LED's at:

http://superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=ACCENTS

I have 7 ALM-OC-x4 around the bottom of the interior and a total of 6 ALM-RC-x3 above the cup holders and up under the dash. I also added 2 of the 20" waterproof strips in the stainless grills on the transom. Total project cost was around 120ish including speaker wire.

Biz,
Do you have any pics, what kind of boat are you restoring?

Its an 85 Ski Supreme. I bought it at Lakota Watersports last year. The boat already had a ballast system integrated into it, just not enough for me to be happy. lol

Rodney, thanks for the info. I looked into this project as well but didn't know what I was getting into. My interior is white, blue, yellow. The guages light up red at night, any recommendations for LED light color? My current bulbs are regular white but looking for more exciting.

My winter project was a big one...

I went from 1 boat to a few more. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about. Jason Haines and Myself have taken over Cincinnati Mastercraft. We plan on opening in the next couple of weeks.

The Biz- I did the same to one of my first boats. It was a 84 Mastercraft. Bought it for like 4300 and restored most of it, ran the hell out of it for 2 summers and sold for like 7500. I was very attached to it because of all the work i did to it, but is was well worth it.. good luck

Mali U,
I thought the same thing, the inside of mine is orange, black and white. I went with red becasue I already had them from never being installed in a old boat but probably would have anyways because that is the color of my gauges, you dont see thee interior colors at night.

Its a pretty easy install (Alteczen showed me the ropes on a previous boat I had). You just drill a hole just big enough for the wire and mount them with silicone. Dont forgot to drill a pilot hole with a really small bit to eliminate the risk of spider cracking the gel. Then wire them in with a small gauge speaker wire (I think i used 24 gauge). Its really easy if you have an existing switch on your dash that is already wired and grounded to battery.

Wankster- I'm doing exactly that.

I have a family friend that does upholstery and carpet at a really good price for me. I am doing all the stereo, teak, and ballast work myself. Overall project should be a really nice starter boat that I have less than $6000 into it.

I have the same plan though. I pretty much bought the boat to restore and enjoy for a couple summers, then sell it and upgrade to a better wakeboat. It doesn't have the best wake in the world, but I figure with the 1400lbs of ballast I'm putting into it, it should be at least good enough for now...

The LEDs look great. I have been contemplating adding some to mine as I don't have any interior lights. I have an Aux switch on the dash, so it should be easy.

Also replacing stock speakers with wet sounds and possibly a WS-420 with separate volume controls for the interior and tower speakers. Anyone used a WS-420 on the water?

Yeah. the 420 is this s***. With a fresh pair of wetsounds on the tower you can tweak the interior speakers or tower speakers to sound real clean.

Great. the more I read, the more I don't know how I can live w/o it. Finally able to ride with tunes without blowing out the boat passengers.
