i know this got started last summer sometime but what's everyone workin on so far? for me its been all switch and toeside...switch 3's switch toe 3's & 5's, toe 3's & 5's...and sliding things. next on the list is batwing and melan crows.

I have high hopes this year... how it pans out we'll see. At least I can skip work to ride more...oh wait... I have no one to ride with.

-Grabbing crows
-Hoochie Glides (Balls out on this stuff this year)
-Try to some mobes (crow, whirly, moby)...whatever feels best
-Solidify 5's... hit the 1st 7 (toeside I'd presume)
-Batwing
-Learn the blind thing... 180's, 3's

I have enough to work on with that list.

Hmm should be an interesting year for me. I don't see myself sticking too many new tricks but I think I'll gain a lot of comfort on the board and hopefully start making things look a little better and stylish.

FS 3
Roll to Revert
TS Grabs
Tantrum (if elbow can take it?)
Poke out some grabs
TS Backroll..maybe not?

Should be a fun year, can't wait!

hahha...a new job...you ride more and they'll prolly help you get rid of the one you have Billy...

7's huh J?? thats whats up. I feel you on the BS stuff. I've been doin a lot of in/out bs stuff just tryna get used to landing wrapped both ways. its difficult to say the least and i've almost gotten tangled up in a few trees and ran into the thules a few times...

lets keep this movin cuz after reading what you guys put down i just added a bunch of stuff to my TO DO list.

lots of switch, consistent tanny, and land a few more 3's which i got lucky and landed once last year, hs 180's switch and regular, and nail a few Rodney glides and flying saucers, if you dont know what they are, you will.

Landed a Tantrum last night with a little help from Daniel Watkins. Had no intentions of riding yesterday but when J invited me out and Daniel was on the boat I figured I might as well try something new. New trick Wednesday!!!

Finally hit the raley - now I just need to start grabbing them. Knocking on the door of the ts 7.

NIce J....finally got switch heel nose grab 3. tried a couple of toe ole 5's and heel ole 5's the other night. i think if i can get it grabbed mute it'll be easier to slow down the rotation and land.

anyone wanna ride monday or tuesday?

Im getting the tantrums much more consistent now (except when I blew up my knee last weekend). I got the 3 rotation pretty consistent and am landing on the board, just struggling with getting that handle pass, 180's are gettting better and am better at grabbing them. i started to learn ts to switch heelside 180's last week, i want to add a scarecrow to my list of goals for year.

joe try this. i was takin mine out the back earlier this year, not quite as much as you do but a little.

dont focus on the trip. focus on straight up pop. when you feel the pop drop your back hand and that should "trip" the board. i try and keep my back straight up and down and pull my knees up into my chest (goin for an indy grab) and that momentum takes me straight up and over the back.

the thing that really helped me out the most was right after the pop to push the handle down to my lead hip and look down for the board. the momentum of the trip and sucking up your knees is more than enough to complete the flip.

i stuck my first nosegrab ts r2r the other nite too. super cool feeling trick. i wanna try a few petes by the end of the summer but i gotta get better at landing blind first.

also tried a few more ts ole 5's. gotta figure out how to grab it off the wake or else i dont think i can do it.

iR1D3
05-27-2009, 07:18 PM
for me -
-ts front rolls (landed 2 last year)
-poking out and takin my 180s farther into the flats
-bs 1 and 3's
-grabbed 3's
-tantrums
-and working on switch riding again!

Anymore this seems like a "what should I wish for this year?"... but heck - I'll play. It's always fun to throw it out there and then have buddies remind you of what you "said" you would try to learn....

Mine are about the same as last year...
-hoochie
-whirly
-crow mobe
-7's
-blind spins - starting with 1's
-a switch invert would be cool too... I just don't like trying to relearn tricks backwards
-work on air tricks and rail skills at WakeNation

This should be no problem while trying to run 2 businesses and having a 3 month old daughter...

consistency is my main goal for this year. and being that im up to par with were i was last year, im gonna join in the fun and throw out what im working on and hoping to get down

hs 540
ts backroll
ts backroll to revert
krypt
batwing - this one's a little out there.. but why not?

oh. and grabbing everything. cause everything looks better with a grab

tombergman

consistency is key for me. if i could just get consistent at all the stuff ive landed i would be pumped. I am going to start working alot more on spinning, stretch goal for the year will be a toe oa 5.

It's been a rough start this year, I feel comfortable on the board but I just can't seems to stick anything. I'm hoping a burst of new tricks happen soon...they are long over due.

I really need to get back to trying 3's
If I can get that backroll floaty I need to take it to revert
I feel good on toeside so I need to try a TS backroll
I'm hoping Tantrum is consistent by EOY
It would be great to stick a TS front roll or scarecrow!

With a discouraging year so far I can only create a wish list for now. A job would be nice to stick this year too :)

I hear ya BZ. I have been a Sally all year but finally starting to progress. I need to suck it up and get the hard falls over with. I'm almost there on the backroll; looking to land one this weekend at Cumberland. I see 360's in the near future too.

EOY goals are solid backrolls, Tantrums, 360's and anything toe side at this point...its ugly.

Rodney

the only thing I seem to stick at cumberland is a heck of a good time to a 3 day hangover :)

its been so windy out here lately that all we've been able to do is hit up the rails at the private lake we ride...but i've got switch 5-0's to backside board slides down on the A-frame and 270 to switch front board too...

what little wake we've ridden this year i've managed to get indy, and tail grab bs 1's landing blind and a couple of indy toe 3's landing blind...should get a batwing the next couple of times out as well as wrapped toe back 1's and 3's...

what i want by the end of the year is switch stuff...sw toe 3's, sw heel 3's, sw bs 1's, etc....not really too concerned with going upside down this year...just want to keep what i have and add a lot of new spins...

What I am working on this summer is actually being able to ride wake board (yeah, I suck,) as well as nailing the kickers at Wake Nation on a knee board.

i just learned how to hit the tranny a few weeks ago and haven't been up at WN since but im trying to stick some grabs off a wake. any ideas on how to get more air besides edging in harder?

tombergman
07-23-2009, 04:54 PM
stay on edge until right before u hit the wake. when u reach it, flatten the board out and stand up. dont jump becuase that takes all the pop away and will ruin the air completely.
